Whether you use a smartphone? If you are willing to try new operating system.I will introduce Windows 7 in this paper.maybe you will say:"What? How dare he say that ?what about android, the iPhone's iOS? Let's take it step by step and put everything into perspective.
What would you want from a Smartphone operating system?
Phone calls and messaging
Windows Phone 7
is developed by Microsoft, unlike its predecessor; it is primarily aimed at the consumer market rather than the enterprise market. It was launched in US and Canada on November 8, 2010. The mechanism all mobile operating systems offer for the reason of its main functions differs only by the user interface. They all provide all the basic functions you may need to make a phone call or open your text messages. WP7 (Windows Phone 7) excels in providing a conversation structure to your messaging layout. It resembles the emails in outlooks 2010 or Gmail. You will find this very helpful and organizing.
The HTC WP7 adds very smart features to the phone operations. The features are packaged under the HTC Sense concept. If you put the phone on your ears, it shuts and locks the screen in order to prevent undesired touch actions by your checks. Nice, eh? How many times did you send a message while doing a standard phone call? If your phones rings and you pick it up, the sound level will lower itself down. And you can silence the ringing by flipping your phone.
The home screen is made of tiles. They link to applications and items such as people, explorer, music and video. You can add, rearrange, or remove those tiles in real time. The home screen is very elegant and simple. Animated reactions offer an intuitive experience. Androids can’t come close to the smartness and the elegance of this design. Transition effects are a beauty to the eyes made possible by the minimum hardware requirement set by Microsoft for device manufacturers. Unlike Apple’s iOS, Windows Phone 7 is available across a number of devices from different manufacturers. However, Microsoft has imposed a strict set of restrictions on its specification, meaning there’s very little to differentiate among models. Each phone must feature an 800×480 pixel multitouch screen, a 1GHz or better ARM processor, a DirectX 9-capable graphics processor, 258MB of RAM, minimum 8GB of flash memory, an accelerometer, a GPS, a five-megapixel camera, and six dedicated hardware buttons.
Dynamic tile thumbnail drawing is done based on the used media and contents make the phone feels so natural and reflective to the user’s personality.
It is a mobile Xbox. Windows Phone 7 comes with a mobile version of Xbox Live, the company’s immensely popular console gaming service. Developers have taken note, with hundreds of games either being made specifically for Windows Phone 7 or being ported to it. Microsoft has also deployed in-house development teams to create games specifically for Windows Phone 7 devices. Many top rated triple “A” titles are available with quality comparable to those of the Sony PSP device. The usage of touch controls and accelerometer are beautifully integrated into the OS. Graphics are wonderful and fast. Bearing in mind that when a company like Microsoft which owns the Xbox division put its weight in a gaming platform, it will excel.
The WP7 offers a market with applications, music and games. You can try the application before you buy it. Apple’s iPhone iTunes market offers more than 1.5 million applications so far. Android has exceeded the 300 thousands applications while the WP7 offers a couple of thousands. Putting in mind that the operating system’s relatively new, the number could be understandable.
Microsoft has provided developer with tools and knowledge base for free encouraging them building new applications for the operating system. On 11 February 2011, at a press event in London, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Nokia CEO Stephen Elop announced a partnership between their companies in which Windows Phone would become the primary smartphone operating system for Nokia suggesting competition with Android and iOS by saying “It is now a three horse race”. I have to say that this one smart move from Nokia to ditch its dates Symbain operating system and go with this resolution.
