Devendra Fadnavis SchoolingDevendra has been a brilliant child from the very beginning; his teachers were very fond of him during his schooling days in Saraswati Vidyalaya in Shankar Nagar Chowk, Nagpur. He joined Dharampeth Jr. College in the year 1986-87 after which he completed a five -year law degree from Law College, Nagpur. During the year 1986-1989, he was an active member of ABVP and channelised the youth towards reconstruction of society. He used to paint walls and paste promotional posters of politicians on them. Along with this, he has been also been a strong supporter of the youth’s participation in politics and a staunch believer in Swami Vivekanand's philosophy.
Political journey of Devendra FadnavisThere is a very interesting story about how he came into politics. He started his career at a RSS Shakha at Trikoni Park and it helped him inculcate a sense of duty towards his family and as well as society. He joined the Maharashtra unit of BJP as a ward President. He became the youngest municipal corporator of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation at the young age of 21. He worked for two consecutive terms, 1992 and 1997. He is also the only person to be re-elected as the Mayor in the state of Maharashtra. Presently, a member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, he has been representing South-West Nagpur in the under-developed Vidarbha region in the state assembly, since 1999.He was appointed party president of Maharashtra unit by the BJP president Rajnath Singh ignoring former president Nitin Gadkari’s suggestion to give another term to Sudhir Mungantiwar. In the 2014 General Elections, he led the party in the state.Fadnavis filed his nomination for the Nagpur South-West seat for the October 15 Maharashtra Assembly polls. Under him, BJP will have to further increase its presence on its own in the state as it’s is not dependent on its former ally Shiv Sena.

Devendra Fadnavis FamilyDevendra married Amruta Ranade in the year 2006. She is the Associate Vice President, Axis Bank in Nagpur. Devendra and Amruta have a five–year-old daughter, Divija Fadnavis.
Political career of Devendra Fadnavis He is a man known for his political wisdom and intellect ; strength of character, sharpness of mind, and organisational skills. He is considered to be farsighted and firm in his approach and extremely humble in his dealings. He has never missed Assembly sessions. Even when his grandmother passed away, he stayed for the last rites and then attended the session.
